Abstract:   (31 Views)
Screening tests for common aneuploidy specially trisomies 21,18,13 should be offered to all pregnant in every ages. Theses screening tests in clude combined test(NT+biochemical papp-a,free bhcg) and quad test. If the tests were positive based on 1/250 cut off, then diagnostic tests.
Our goal at this study was comparative evaluation of  these  screening tests results  and amniocentesis.
Method and materials:
This research was  a practical-basic study that designed  in order to evaluate accuracy of first and second trimester screening tests with amniosynthesis results.
We choose our cases among referred patients for abnormal screening tests to Shohada Hospital during 1393-1394 .There  were 45 patients in the study.. Their tests(combined or quad )were positive based on cut off 1/250.Theire data collected through a questioner form that contain age, gravidity, previous aneuploidy births, placenta location, blood group, amniotic fluid color ,type of sampling needle and mode of needle entrance. Before  entrance to  the study patient satisfaction was obtained by phone.
Results: mean age of patients was 33.16 years. There was significant p.value between positive results of amniosynthesis and age of the patients. We had 4 abnormal results among 45 amniocentesis test.two results related to first trimester (2/17) & the remaining two were among second trimester tests(2/24).three  out of four  item were T21 and forth was translocation between chromosome 11-22.We had two fetal loss due to amniocentesis procedure.

Discussion:
finally ,diagnostic tests suggest for better evaluation of  abnormal screening results. In this study we try evaluate real results with invasive tests. To investigate accuracy of screening aneuploidy tests we need more cases .
